What is your name, occupation, and where do you live?

My name is Marco, and I’m a Content Creator in men’s fashion. I live in Düsseldorf, Germany.

How would you describe your own style?

My style is a modern take on classic menswear. I keep it minimalistic, focusing on timeless pieces worn in a relaxed, contemporary way. I pay close attention to fabrics, quality, textures, and shapes rather than following bold trends.

What’s the most important in a man’s outfit and is key to dressing well?

For me, less is more. Dressing well means keeping it simple and wearing what you truly like. Confidence comes from feeling comfortable in your own clothes, and people notice that. Versatility and intention are key - having pieces that work well together helps you look put together without overcomplicating your outfit.

What's your favourite places in Düsseldorf?

I love Düsseldorf Flingern for its small cafés, restaurants, and bars - it’s also one of my favourite places to work when I’m in Düsseldorf. I also enjoy Carlsplatz, the local flea markets, Rösterei Vier, Velvet, f()rum, and spending time along the Rhine.

How did your interest in creating content begin?

I’ve always been interested in fashion, and I’ve also loved photography. Back in 2017, a friend of mine started gaining followers by just posting selfies and wanted to take his Instagram to the next level. He asked me to shoot some photos for him, and since I was already passionate about taking pictures all my life, we started creating content together. 

His account grew quite fast because people really liked the photography and the outfits. As we were both students back then he couldn’t pay me for the work I did for him. It took a lot of time everyday, and he suggested we take some photos of me in return and he will pay me as soon as he concludes the first paid brand deals.

I was a bit uncomfortable posting them since it wasn’t that common at the time and I was afraid of what other people might think. He basically convinced me to post my first “professional” Instagram photo one day at his apartment. That’s how it all started. From that first post to today, it’s been an incredible journey - and now there are over 400,000 people following along.

Were you always into fashion and dressing in your own individual style?

As I mentioned, I have always had a great interest in fashion. When I was younger, I dressed differently from everyone else and stayed true to myself. For me, it has always been important to follow my own style rather than just trends. I choose my wardrobe pieces based on the idea that I can wear them for many years - maybe even decades.

For example, I bought a pair of boots in 2019 that I still wear every winter - they just take a quick trip to the cobbler, and then they’re ready for another season. Always quality over quantity.
