What is your name, occupation, and where do you live?
My name is Victor. I'm 24 years old. I work for Rapha, a cycling fashion company. I've been living in Copenhagen for two years now. I'm originally from Mallorca, but I moved here to start my career and find new challenges.
What are you most passionate about in life?
Since I was a kid, I've loved sports, so of course I started playing football. Then, because I love cycling and there was no cycling club in my town, I started doing triathlons. At the moment, I'm mainly doing cycling and running because of my job. I also love going to cafes, trying new beans, and exploring the coffee world, which is really related to cycling.
What impact has cycling had on your life and growing up?
I started cycling maybe 12 years ago. At that moment, I was playing football, and the environment around football was not that healthy in Spain.
For me, cycling has changed my life. Thanks to cycling, I've met a lot of nice people who are now part of my life, friends who are almost like family. Through cycling, I've also gotten to know a lot of new cities and places because I've been racing around Spain mainly, and then Denmark as well.
I got my job, for example, one day when I was cycling and met my current boss, who offered me a job. So cycling has had a big impact on my life and has given me a lot.

What is the best thing about cycling?
For me, the best part of cycling is the social aspect. I love to go with friends, catch up, and spend hours talking. That's the main reason why I love cycling.
Even though it can be an individual sport, I love training with other people, having fun, and getting some kilometres in. I also love coffee stops. For me, it's a mix of training and a big social component. That's why I love it.
Also, it's a way of relaxing, being away from all your problems, work life, or whatever. It's a bit of therapy for me to be on the bike.

The weather conditions here in Denmark make you a really strong rider mentally. You get quite strong because of the wind and rain.

How was it to engage in sports in Mallorca compared to doing so in Denmark?
I was born in Mallorca, so that made it way easier for me to start in sports like triathlon. You can swim in the sea, and it's super nice with clear water. It's also a paradise for cycling.
That was for sure one of the reasons why I started doing triathlons. Training in that kind of paradise is way easier than swimming in cold and dark waters. It was really easy for me, and you enjoy it way, way, way more when you train in a place like Mallorca.
When I moved from Mallorca to here, I found it a bit hard to do three sports like I was doing in triathlon. So I switched to one because I thought it would be easier to balance with my job.
The weather conditions here in Denmark make you a really strong rider mentally. You get quite strong because of the wind and rain. You always have to race against the weather. Your body takes a lot of energy just to regulate the temperature because sometimes you get so cold.
In the end, I think Denmark is a good place to train and become a tough rider. When I go back to Mallorca, I feel quite strong, even though we don't have hills here, because you need to pedal against the wind almost every ride.

Yeah, for me, it matters a lot how I dress. I think it gives me a lot of confidence.

Is it important to you to dress well in your daily life?
Yeah, for me, it matters a lot how I dress. I think it gives me a lot of confidence. It's hard to explain, but I feel much nicer when I have a nice outfit on.
I really try to pay attention to my outfit every day. On the bike, I also try to look as nice as possible. It's a good way to express who you are, even though people don't know you.
You can tell a lot about yourself with the outfit you wear. Sometimes you can express your mood through the colours you wear or the type of outfit. So it's definitely a way of talking without saying anything, just showing who you want to be through your outfit.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
If I could choose one superpower, I would probably choose the ability to fly. Or to teleport, actually. Then I could easily go back and see my friends and family since I'm not living where I was born.
I would love to just be able to do that, to be in another city for the weekend when I'm off. I could escape from a bad situation just by saying, "boom," and I'm out of it.
